Marleshwar is known for the Cave Shiva Temple, where devotees handle venomous snakes every year thousands of devotees visit the temple and perform ablutions in the nearby Bav river.
Near the temple, Dhareshwar waterfall can be seen. Local belief is that Lord Parshuram laid the foundation of the temple. Many snakes can be seen in the cave but there has been no complaint of any devotees being bitten. This has resulted in the increased faith of the devotees.
The Sahyadri Mountain ranges can be seen from the temple.
On the day of ‘Makarsankranti’ natives celebrates the marriage ceremony of Marleshwar and Girijadevi. This is a major event of this temple. Besides on ‘Mahashivratri’ and ‘Tripuri Poornima’ there is yatra (fair).
How To Go:
Marleshwar is 18 kms from Devrukh & Marleshwar Temple is 40 KM Away from Sangameshwar. One has to go to Maral village, which is 14 kms from Devrukh. And after that 3 km road is by motorway and 1 km is by foot.
Direct State Transport buses are available to go to Marleshwar from Devrukh.

Best Season to visit:
The winter season is good time to Visit, with temperature dropping at nights, the ideal months to visit being September to February.
Avoid Rainy seasons.Temple may be closed in June and July due to waterfall starts just above the cave.
