Fateh Sagar Lake is situated in the city of Udaipur in Rajasthan.
It is an artificial lake named after Maharana Fateh Singh of Udaipur and Mewar,constructed to the north-west of Udaipur.
A beautiful lake, overlooked by a number of hills on the three sides and the Pratap Memorial on the north was built by Maharana Fateh Singh. In the middle of the lake is Nehru Park - a lovely garden island with a boat shaped cafe accessible by an enjoyable boat ride.
Fateh Sagar Lake, an appealing and quiet lake built by Maharana Jai Singh and later renovated by Maharana Fateh Singhji, is placed to the north of Lake Pichola with a canal linking the Pichola lake and Fateh Sagar Lake. The Lake is in the greenish backdrop of wooded hills surrounding the three sides and dammed on the other side.
A lovely garden, Nehru Park is placed on the midst of the Dam and a pleasant boat ride from the shore to the Nehru garden is enjoyable.
This lake and surroundings stands as an evening picnic spot for the locals.

Macrophytes that have merged in the lake, floating macrophytes, the submerged macrophytes and the Phytoplankton.
The lake’s surroundings have sparse vegetation cover; however, several species of plants are found along the roads and the hills in the lake basin.
Fauna:-There the Zooplankton, Benthos and Fish.
C. punctatus, C. reba, Catla catla, L. calbasu, Channa marulius, Cirrhina mrigala, L. gonius, Labeo rohita, Tor khudree, and Wallago attu.
Near By Lake, we can visit ancient Mahakaleshwar Temple.
The marvelous Mahakaleshwar Temple is situated at the bank of Fatehsagar Lake opposite Panna Vilas .
The temple is spread around 3.5 acres of land and great saints like Guru Gorakhnath,the dignified devotee of Lord Shiva, has worshipped here.
The devotees have strong faith in Lord Shiva and every day huge number of devotees visits temple to have a glimpse of Mahakaleshwar.
Timings:
The temple opens early in the morning, first puja takes place at 5.30 A.M. and the last puja (prayer) takes place at 10.30 P.M.
The Rajbhog puja takes place at 11.30 A.M. and the evening Aarti takes place at 6.30 P.M.which is attended by large number of devotees as they are centre of attaraction for the visitors as well as devotees.
How To Go:- Udaipur is well connected to the major cities of India by land, rail and air.
Dabok airport, also known as Maharana Pratap Airport,is situated in a satellite town about 20 KM from Udaipur. Daily flights connect Udaipur with Jaipur, Mumbai and Delhi. Air India, Jet Airways, IndiGo and Spice Jet are operational at present.
Udaipur City railway station is well connected with Major Parts of India.The Palace on Wheels, Royal Rajasthan on Wheels, Maharaja Express and The Indian Maharaja have Udaipur as the scheduled stop.
The popular trains connecting Udaipur with the Capital of India, Delhi are Mewar Express and Chetak Express.
The city is well connected with the intersection point of East West Corridor, Golden Quadrilateral, National Highway (NH) 76 and National Highway (NH) 8, midway between Delhi and Mumbai, located around 700 KM from either city.
The East West Corridor which starts from Porbandar and
ends at Silchar is intersecting the Golden Quadrilateral and shares the common space from Udaipur to Chittor.
We can either drive from Jaipur (around 6 Hrs), Ahmedabad (4.1/2 Hrs) or Surat (9 Hrs) on NH 8 or Golden Quadrilateral, from Kota (3 Hrs NH 76).
Udaipur City Bus Depot has lines running for majority of other destinations in Rajasthan and north and west towards Madhya Pradesh and Gujrat.
Other than Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC), there are number of private operators and companies providing bus services to and from the other cities.
