Phansad Bird Sanctuary In Raigad,Maharashtra

Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary is a bird sanctuary in  Raigad district, Maharashtra. It is spread across area of 52 SQ.KM.

The Government has declared as sanctuary dated 25-Feb-1986. And hand over to wildlife Division thane on 1994 for wild life management and protection.

The Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary is the coastal woodland a varied species of insects are also found in this sanctuary.
Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary is famous for the beautiful Giant Indian Squirrel.

The Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary is a famous for birds. Like as Hunting birds like Shikra, Crested serpent eagle, changeable hawk eagle, kestrel etc are very frequent in this jungle. 

The Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary   animals include Heyena, Jungle cat, Palm civet, Sambhar, Barking deer, Bonnet Macaque, Wild boar and malabar giant squirrel.

There are 148 types of birds.

About 71 species of butterflies are found in this wildlife sanctuary.

The Phansad Wildlife Sanctuary is located 150 KM away from Mumbai.
Around 150 KM from Pune.
Loacated  on Murud – Roha road.




Nearest railway station is Roha at 30KM on the Konkan railway.
From Roha, You will get State transport buses.




Nearest Bus Stand is Alibag at 50KM from the sanctuary. Roha Bus Stand is 1 hour drive from the sanctuary.
